MVNC volunteer teaching kids 5 senses at park

We strive to inspire environmental learning and interpretive connections with our community

The Nature Center is the City of Arvada’s environmental education facility. We offer many different types of programs, from on-demand virtual learning units, to school and group programs to engage kids with nature, to public programs for all ages. Programs include our nature trails, wetland areas and prairie ecosystems to explore and inspire learning and interpretive connections. Our mission directs our programming to connect kids and adults with Arvada’s parks and to better understand and appreciate nature.

Topics are grade-level appropriate and meet Colorado science standards. In-person programs follow state and local safety mandates, including required, masks, temperature screening, and limited class sizes.

And you can learn just outside the Nature Center in our 25,000 square feet of a beautiful water-conserving demonstration garden where visitors can discover native Colorado plants and wildlife-friendly landscaping.

We have programs for school classes, scouts troops, and other private groups. You pick the topic, we bring the fun. Any group can request a program with one of our naturalist. Prices vary, virtual and limited in-person options are available.

We have programs for everyone. You don’t have to be part of an organized group to take part in our learning programs.  View our calendar of upcoming events to find programs and register. Virtual and limited in-person programs, all state and local safety restrictions apply.
