Help us with your curiosity.

With new eyes comes new ideas that help us discover nature in ways we hadn’t thought of before. Interns assist with a variety of assignments, each year with different projects. Past interns have worked on, but are not guaranteed to be available in the future, projects related to the following:

  • Teaching public programs

  • Teaching summer field trips

  • Filming virtual programs (scripting to editing)

  • Content development for social media

  • Garden work days/park work days

  • Event support (planning and executing)

  • Animal conservation research in collaboration with MVNC partners

  • Trail maintenance

  • Curriculum/program development

  • Marketing planning

*All interns must pass background check and requirements, and be at least 13 years of age

Volunteer Internships

Summer volunteer internships are not paid. High schoolers can apply but must be 13 years of age. The Nature Center typically does not host winter interns during the slower seasons.

Volunteer interns should submit volunteer paperwork and can be onboarded in 1-2 weeks. Experience and interests may impact what projects are available.

Paid Internships

Paid Internships may be available for spring or fall field trip seasons. Limited paid hours are available, but additional volunteer hours are available if needed for school credits. Typically spring interns are required to be available through June 1 and/or Trails Day.
